Welcome from the President

President John Bennett

Welcome to the website of The Rotary Club of Banbury. My name is John Bennett and I have the privilege of being the Club President for the year 2011 / 2012.

You will find this website full of information about the history, aims and ideals of Rotary International in general and about the work of our Banbury club in particular.

Our club is in its 76th year, and we have in place a wide range of projects for the year, plus others in the pipeline. The aim for some of these will be to raise much needed funds for worthy causes both at home and abroad, while others will be aimed at support work in our local community. For more information about our programme, please click here.

Rotary is a dual gender, non political and non-sectarian organisation, who’s members’ hold or have held positions of responsibility in their business or professional life, or have undertaken work in the community for the benefit of others. We currently have over 70 members who either live or work in the Banbury area. Our Friday lunchtime meetings last just over an hour, starting at 1 o’clock and usually feature a guest speaker.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite Rotarians from other clubs, who find themselves in Banbury on a Friday lunchtime, to join us at our meeting.

I hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you to some of our events during this Rotary year, as our club endeavours to uphold the Rotary mission statement of "Service Above Self".
