Sports and Entertainment Committee

This committee organises outings, sporting events and entertainment e.g.

Autumn Weekend Breaks

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Club Quiz

Darts within the Club and Inter Club

Club Outings

Gliding

Golf

Horse Racing

 

Fellowship and House Committee

This committee organise the weekly meetings, ie the venue, the catering details those Rotarians on duty etc.

 

Publicity and Bulletin Committee

This committee is responsible for the club Public Relations, it liases with the local Newspapers, Radio and Television Stations to obtain media coverage of Rotary events. In particular Financial Donations that allows the general public to be aware of where their donations are being given to, and to give publicity to the recipient organisation.

This committee also produces a monthly club “Bulletin” for all members of the club. It lists future events, speaker reports over the last month and it includes a list of future speakers, member’s lunchtime duties and attendance record details.

 

Classification, Membership and Information Committee

This committee is responsible for the recruitment and classification of new members, wherever possible Rotary discourages to many members of any one profession (classification) becoming members of the same club.

Due to the size of the Rotary Club of Banbury i.e. 70 members, it is entitled to have 5 members of any one classification; these can be retired or still members who are still working.

This Committee meets the prospective new members recruited by the Membership and Classification Committee and advises them of the time and financial commitment they will need to make if they join Rotary.

 

Attendance Committee

This committee monitors each member’s attendance at the required club events to the Rotary Attendance rules; they also complete an attendance and membership numbers report on a monthly basis for the Club Council and the District attendance officer.

 

Programme Committee

This Committee organise the weekly Speakers, the Club has a speaker virtually every week, these speakers come from local companies, organisations, individuals etc.
