Hundreds of Rotary clubs across Great Britain & Ireland have been supporting Lendwithcare since 2011. Lendwithcare is a microfinance initiative run by CARE International UK that allows individuals to lend as little as £15 to support entrepreneurs in low-income countries. The program aims to help people set up and run local businesses in very poor but safe locations throughout the world, where repayments of the loans made can be collected safely and regularly by honest people.

Since May 2019 Banbury Rotary Club has donated a total of £1000 to the scheme. All repayments have been reinvested directly back into the programme so, including these, we have been able to make a total of £2755.00 worth of loans available. Each small loan goes directly to a chosen entrepreneur and is repaid monthly at a rate of about £2.80. There have been no defaulters. To date we have provided 33 loans (13 of whcih have been completed) to 138 people plus 267 family members: 45 jobs were created in the process.

Overall, it is a small but very successful operation that members should be very proud of supporting.
